9632658-12303 Job Description A dynamic school community near Schenectady, NY seeks dedicated nursing professionals for two key contract roles supporting elementary schools. These full-time positions are essential in maintaining the well-being and safety of students across various school sites throughout the academic year. Shifts are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, following the full school calendar. Youll have the rewarding opportunity to make a direct impact as a floater, addressing the health needs of students and adapting to a range of daily challenges. One role will require stepping in for a maternity leave beginning in December, providing one-on-one care for an elementary student with a tracheostomy for the remainder of the school year.

Qualifications:

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in New York State Prior experience in a school setting is preferred but not required Comfortable providing one-on-one care to students with complex health needs (trach care experience is a plus) Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

Serve as a floating nurse among elementary schools, responding to student health issues and emergencies Administer medications, perform routine and specialized nursing care Cover a 1:1 assignment for a student with trach needs during maternity leave (December-EOSY) Record and maintain accurate health records, abiding by all school and state guidelines Promote a safe and healthy school environment This engaging contract offers a meaningful way to contribute your nursing expertise in a positive, child-focused atmosphere for the entire school year.
