A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.
Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast paced dermatology team. The RN will support dermatologic patient care by assisting providers with examinations and procedures, patient education, clinical documentation, and treatment coordination in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide high-quality care in a patient-focused environment. Responsibilities Assist dermatologists and other providers with patient assessments, examinations, and in-office procedures. Prepare patients for dermatology visits, procedures, and treatments. Administer medications, injections, and wound care as ordered by the provider and within scope of practice. Perform suture removal, dressing changes, and post-procedure care education. Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, allergies, and chief complaints. Review and update patient records accurately in the EMR/EHR system. Educate patients on skin care, treatment plans, medications, wound care, and follow-up instructions. Support prior authorizations, referrals, and coordination of care when needed. Maintain infection control, safety, and compliance standards in accordance with office and state regulations. Assist with specimen collection, lab coordination, and pathology follow-up. Communicate effectively with patients, providers, pharmacies, and other healthcare professionals. Manage clinical workflows to support efficient patient flow and office operations. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York. Previous experience in dermatology, ambulatory care, medical/surgical nursing, or outpatient specialty practice preferred. Strong knowledge of patient assessment, wound care, medication administration, and infection control. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and accurate clinical documentation. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a busy clinical environment. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements. Experience with minor surgical or dermatologic procedures is a plus.
