Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract If you're an experienced Registered Nurse interested in making an impact on the next generation of healthcare professionals, a unique opportunity awaits working with high school students enrolled in a Nurse Assisting (Nurse Aide) course. This per diem, contract role offers flexible hours in the mornings (8 to 10 am) and afternoons (12 to 2 pm), beginning as soon as possible with duration to be confirmed. As the clinical Registered Nurse, you'll play a critical role in nurturing both skills and confidence in aspiring CNAs during their on-the-job learning experiences. Your expertise will guide students through hands-on training, ensuring a strong foundation for their future careers.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the creation and implementation of valuable clinical experiences for Nurse Assisting students Developing and coordinating clinical instruction schedules alongside the classroom teacher Directly supervising students in an 8:1 ratio during clinical sessions, providing mentorship and oversight Liaising with agency personnel regarding all clinical experience facets Assessing and evaluating student progress in clinical tasks Supporting the Nurse Aide Teacher with other related duties as assigned To thrive in this role, candidates should have: A New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing Current or qualifying status for the Civil Service title of School Nurse Direct experience in long-term care or nursing home settings Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively support young learners This position is ideal for RNs eager for a flexible, rewarding way to shape future healthcare leaders.
