Job Summary:
Duties include but not limited to: refer incoming calls and messages; greet and assist visitors; record preparation; initiate patient services; process physician and nursing staff orders; and input of patient registration and other relevant information into hospital computer system. Must be able to communicate effectively in order to transfer information, as well as complete a variety of tasks within a given time frame. Excellent communication and organizational skills are necessary. Computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology desired
Minimum Qualifications:
The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the H iring for E mergency L imited P lacement ( HELP ) Program, During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Nursing Station Clerk 1, SG07 title. For consideration for this title, you must meet the following minimum qualifications: One year full-time clerical, secretarial or patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical terminology. Previous medical office experience
Work Days:
Schedule based on a 40 hour work week. Monday-Friday, Day Shift, hours between 7:00am-5:00pm. Message to
