Minimum 2 Years of Emergency Department Experience Required About the Role We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (ED) for a 16-week contract position in Utica, New York. The ED RN will provide high-acuity emergency nursing care to newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients . Candidates must have at least 2 years of Emergency Department experience, including pediatric exposure, along with previous travel nursing experience. Common patient conditions include stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure . Floating is required. Responsibilities Assess, triage, and provide comprehensive emergency nursing care across newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations. Manage high-acuity conditions including stroke, sepsis, trauma, cardiac arrest, MI, respiratory failure, and other emergency presentations. Administer and monitor critical medications and infusions, including vasopressors, vasodilators, antiarrhythmics, sedation medications, heparin, insulin, and thrombolytic therapy. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams while supporting acute care, trauma, observation, psychiatric, and other ED patient-care areas. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation using Epic and float to other assigned units or areas when required. Requirements Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) License Required at Time of Submission. Minimum 2 Years of Emergency Department Nursing Experience Required, Including Pediatric Experience. Previous Travel Nursing Experience Required. Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC Certifications Required. Epic EMR Experience Required; Charge Nurse Capability Highly Preferred and Must Be Willing to Float. The Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide skilled, responsive, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency setting.
