The Internship Coordinator serves as a key member of the Office of Workforce Development, supporting SUNY Polytechnic Institute's commitment to preparing students for career success through meaningful experiential learning opportunities. While this position serves all SUNY Polytechnic Institute students through Career Services, it provides dedicated support to students participating in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and Advancing Completion through Engagement (ACE), ensuring these student populations receive individualized career coaching, internship placement assistance, and access to high-impact experiential learning opportunities. Working collaboratively with Career Services, faculty, employers, and community partners, the coordinator develops and manages internship opportunities that align with students' academic and career goals, with particular emphasis on increasing access to high-impact experiential learning for students who benefit from individualized support.Responsibilities:
Internship & Experiential Learning Coordination - Serve as the primary internship coordinator for students participating in the EOP and ACE programs, providing individualized guidance throughout the internship search process. Collaborate with EOP, ACE, academic departments, and campus partners to identify students who would benefit from experiential learning opportunities while ensuring services remain accessible to all SUNY Poly students. Support the coordination of grant-funded and institutionally supported internship initiatives, including student eligibility, tracking, reporting, and assessment. Coordinate the development, implementation, and assessment of internship and experiential learning programs across the institution. Serve as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, and employers participating in internship programs. Assist students in identifying, applying for, and securing internships aligned with their academic and career interests. Support internship onboarding, orientation, learning agreements, evaluations, and program documentation. Collaborate with academic departments to expand experiential learning opportunities within the curriculum. Monitor internship participation and outcomes while maintaining accurate records and reporting metrics. Ensure compliance with institutional, SUNY, and employer policies related to internships and experiential learning. Career Coaching & Student Development - Provide individualized career coaching to all SUNY Poly students, with intentional outreach and comprehensive support for students participating in EOP and ACE. Conduct resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile reviews. Coach students on internship and job search strategies. Prepare students for interviews through mock interviews and interview preparation. Assist students with career exploration, career planning, and graduate school decision-making. Deliver workshops and classroom presentations on career readiness topics including: Resume development Networking Professional communication Internship preparation Job search strategies Interviewing Career readiness competencies Employer & Community Engagement - Support the Director of Career Services to leverage employer partnerships that create equitable access to internships and experiential learning opportunities, particularly for students participating in EOP, ACE, and other student success initiatives. Collaborate with regional industry partners to develop talent pipelines that support workforce needs. Assist in coordinating employer recruitment events, career fairs, networking events, and internship showcases. Promote internship opportunities through Handshake and other communication platforms. Represent SUNY Poly at employer meetings, community events, and workforce development initiatives. Program Support & Assessment - Assist with strategic initiatives within the Office of Workforce Development. Collect and analyze internship and career outcomes data. Prepare reports demonstrating program participation and student success. Recommend process improvements to enhance student and employer engagement. Support grant-funded workforce initiatives and special projects as assigned.Benefits:

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, Human Resources, Business, Counseling, Communications, or a related field. One to three years of professional experience in career services, workforce development, experiential learning, employer relations, higher education, or a related field. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to build collaborative relationships with students, faculty, employers, and community partners. Experience presenting workshops or facilitating group programs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and student information or career management systems. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student Affairs, Business Administration, Workforce Development, or a related field. Experience coordinating internships or experiential learning programs. Experience using Handshake or similar career management platforms. Familiarity with NACE Career Readiness Competencies and career coaching best practices. Experience working with employer engagement, workforce development initiatives, or grant-funded programs. Knowledge of experiential learning models and higher education partnerships.Additional Information:
