Job Description

This 13-week, travel nursing position is based on a 28-bed MS/Tele Ortho unit serving mainly orthopedic cases (backs, necks, knees, and hips), with some trauma and medical patients, as well as bariatric surgery post-ops. Collaborate with a diverse care team, utilize advanced equipment such as Alaris pumps and Hercules beds, and expand your clinical expertise handling various drains (Hemovac, JP, True-close). Benefit from direct patient interaction, involvement in multi-system treatments, and quality improvement initiatives while enjoying the flexibility of a travel contract.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour night shifts Every other weekend (EOW) Every other holiday (EOH)
Your Qualifications:
Current unrestricted RN license Minimum 2 years' recent MS/Tele or Ortho experience BLS and ACLS certifications required Strong communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with all care team members Knowledge of post-op patient care, especially backs, hips, and knees Familiarity with surgical drains and ambulation post-surgery
Position Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care Administer medications and manage select drips such as Heparin and PCA opioids Coordinate care with LPNs, shift supervisors, and interdisciplinary teams Advocate for patient safety, participate in quality improvement, and support patient/family education Respond efficiently to rapidly changing patient conditions
