Job Objective:
The program nurse will support NwOESC Multiple Disabilities programs in Fulton County, including: Development and monitoring of student healthcare plans; Training staff on delegated nursing activities for students; Communicating with guardians, students' medical providers, and NwOESC educators and service providers about ongoing student health needs; Participating in IEP or other meetings as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Ohio Board of Nursing RN license is necessary for this position. Minimum educational aide permit - Ohio State Board of Education Acts in accordance with the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators. Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks. Documents/maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment. Effective communication, problem-solving and time management skills. Embodies high ethical standards/integrity. Accepts responsibility for personal decisions/conduct.

Employees must obtain training and maintain skills to fulfill compliance requirements applicable to the position as required by board policy and state/federal law.
Essential Functions:
1. Arrives on time prepared to work. Complies with established work schedules. Maintains an effective records management system. Files and retrieves information. Maintains parent consent forms (e.g., administration of medications, emergency treatment, etc.). Reviews and implements student health plans. Informs staff about student medical conditions and emergency action plans. Maintains open lines of communications with staff and parents/guardians regarding health concerns. Serves as a resource to all stakeholders regarding health related issues. Monitors the security of stored medicine. Compares consent forms with medications to identify discrepancies. Administers student medications under the supervision of the school nurse. Performs health screening procedures. (e.g., vision, hearing, etc.) as directed. Assists with immunization programs. Assists ill staff/students. Administers first aid. Documents injuries. Notifies parents/guardians when a student needs to be sent home. Consults with parents as needed (e.g., phone calls, E-mail, written notes, meetings, etc.). Responds promptly to requests for assistance. Conducts a patient assessment when the school nurse is not available. Administer emergency first aid. Documents care provided and medical supplies used. Initiates steps for rapid response transportation to a treatment facility when needed. 2. Exemplifies professionalism to enhance NwOESC and member district public images. Diligently attends to job details. Pursues quality work results. Performs all aspects of the job. Encourages community involvement in school-sponsored activities. Develops mutually respectful relationships with co-workers. Functions as part of a cohesive team. Maintains an acceptable attendance record. Provides prompt notice of delays or absences. Maintains a professional appearance. Wears work attire appropriate for the position. Participates in the development of best practices and the advancement of academic standards. Respects privacy. Resolutely maintains the confidentiality of privileged information. 3. Maintains open/effective communications. Serves as a reliable information resource. Refers administrative procedure and policy questions to an appropriate administrator. Resolves issues tactfully. Uses active listening/problem-solving techniques. Respects diversity. 4. Pursues opportunities to enhance personal performance. Keeps current with professional standards associated with work duties. Updates personal skills as needed to effectively utilize task-appropriate technology.

SALARY:
Based on the adopted salary schedule and the candidate's experience.
BENEFITS
Part-time (24 hours per week). Membership in the School Employees Retirement System (SERS) is included. Paid sick leave and personal leave.
