Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse specializing in correctional healthcare to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care within correctional facilities, ensuring the health and safety of incarcerated individuals while adhering to regulatory standards and institutional policies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in diverse clinical skills, including emergency response, chronic disease management, and mental health support, all delivered in a secure environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on underserved populations through expert nursing practice. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation within correctional settings. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and immunizations, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Manage acute and chronic conditions such as pain, infectious diseases, and mental health issues with appropriate interventions. Perform diagnostic evaluations, including specimen collection, laboratory testing coordination, and interpretation of results. Provide emergency care utilizing advanced skills such as airway management, trauma response, and critical care procedures in high-pressure situations. Document all patient interactions meticulously within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop discharge plans, coordinate referrals for specialty care such as ophthalmology or cardiology, and facilitate continuity of care. Support mental health initiatives by managing behavioral health needs and assisting with memory care or dementia-related cases. Ensure infection control practices are rigorously followed to maintain a safe environment for staff and inmates. Participate in ongoing training related to trauma medicine, infectious disease care, or specialized areas like hospice & palliative medicine.
Requirements:
RN OH State License or Multistate License
BLS/CPR 1+ RN
Experience Shift Timings:
Evening 2pm to 12am HC1
Pay:
$51.00 - $53.00 per hour
