Responsibilities Provide direct pediatric nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents on an operating room unit Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments following provider orders and protocols Monitor, assess, and document patient status, vital signs, and responses to interventions Prepare pediatric patients and families for procedures and surgeries, offering education and emotional support Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe care Maintain sterile technique, OR safety standards, and infection control practices Respond to emergencies and changes in patient condition using pediatric-specific interventions Use EMR systems to accurately chart care, orders, and care plans Educate families on post-op care, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs Follow facility policies, regulatory guidelines, and Wise Medical Staffing procedures Required Skills Pediatric nursing care Perioperative nursing IV insertion and management Medication administration Patient and family education Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation Infection control and sterile technique Pediatric assessment and monitoring Clinical decision-making in acute settings Interdisciplinary team collaboration
