OMANFIL began its operations with a pioneering mission—to open opportunities for Filipino workers in the Sultanate of Oman. In 1980, OMANFIL became the first Philippine agency to deploy Filipino workers to Oman, laying the foundation for strong bilateral employment relations. Today, it is estimated that around 25,000 Filipinos are currently working in Oman, with the vast majority having been recruited through OMANFIL. From this stronghold, OMANFIL steadily expanded its reach and reputation, and now has more than 50,000 deployed workers in other parts of the world.
Over the decades, OMANFIL has earned numerous accolades and industry recognition for its excellence, commitment to ethical recruitment, and unmatched service delivery. The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has continuously acknowledged OMANFIL's consistent performance. In 1988, OMANFIL was inducted into the POEA Hall of Fame, the highest honor granted to recruitment agencies for exemplary service and performance. As a testament to its continued excellence, OMANFIL is among the very few agencies that have received all of POEA's major awards: the Top Performer Award, Awards of Distinction, and Awards of Excellence.
Further affirming its industry leadership, the Philippine Marketing Association awarded OMANFIL's Chairman, Mr. Leonardo B. de Ocampo, with the prestigious AGORA Award for Excellence in Manpower Export—a distinction that OMANFIL uniquely holds in the recruitment sector.
Perhaps the most prestigious recognition came in April 2010, when OMANFIL was conferred the Presidential Award for Manpower Export Excellence by the President of the Republic of the Philippines.
