Registered Nurse (RN) Substitute School Health ServicesMake a Difference in the Lives of StudentsThe Educational Service Center of Medina County is seeking caring, dependable, and professional Registered Nurses (RN) Substitutes to provide health services and support to students in school settings throughout Medina County.

This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who enjoy working with children and adolescents in a positive educational environment. RN Substitutes play a vital role in supporting student health, safety, and well-being so students can fully participate in their educational experience.

Position OverviewThe RN Substitute provides health-related services to students in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing scope of practice, school policies, and state regulations. Responsibilities may vary based on student needs and assignment location.

Essential ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care and health-related services to students.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and authorized.

Monitor and document student health conditions and interventions.

Assist students with medical, physical, and personal care needs.

Respond appropriately to health concerns, illnesses, and emergencies.

Support students with chronic health conditions and special medical needs.

Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to promote student well-being.

Maintain accurate health records and required documentation.

Follow all district, ESC, state, and federal health and safety regulations.

Promote a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environment.

QualificationsCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the Ohio Board of Nursing.

Ohio Educational Aide Permit or willingness to obtain one.

Current CPR/AED certification.

Valid Ohio driver's license and reliable transportation.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and adapt to varying school environments.

Ability to safely assist students with physical and personal care needs.

Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.

Preferred QualificationsOne or more years of pediatric, school nursing, or related healthcare experience.

Experience working with children and students with disabilities.
