Full Job Description Role:
The nurse plans, delivers, documents, and evaluates correctional healthcare for patients based on individual needs and provider directives, adhering to recognized nursing standards and policies. They supervise assigned nursing personnel, observe and assess patient conditions, and maintain accurate documentation of care, treatment, and responses.
Responsibilities:
Ensure quality nursing care, monitor patient health, report changes, and uphold the organization's mission, values, and customer service standards.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, hold an active Ohio RN license, and obtain BLS certification if not already held. Knowledge of nursing theory, medical asepsis, and clinical equipment is required. Excellent communication and physical coordination are essential.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing and correctional health care experience. Certification as a Certified Corrections Nurse (CCN) or Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk; lift 250-300 pounds with assistance; push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance; and exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and cleaning chemicals.
