Job Description

This position will actively support the Hospital's Strategic Plan in the areas of People, Service, Quality, Finance and Growth, in a team-based environment. The employee also performs all job duties in compliance with laws and regulation in the observance of accrediting agency standards. The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Nurse will maintain standards of professional nursing care according to the competency criteria. The Registered Nurse participates inpatient/family teaching and discharge planning. Works cooperatively with ancillary nursing personnel and other departments. Title and Rate of Pay will be based on

Education and Experience Responsibilities:

Utilizes the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate, educate) in providing patient care. Performs assessments through data collection of patient`s physical and psychosocial status and health history. Plans patient care through individualization of care and incorporates patient/family input. Implements physician orders, treatments, care plan interventions according to schedule in a timely manner. Evaluates and prioritizes patient care decisions and communicates relevant information to care providers. Educates the patient and family if applicable to meet the health care needs utilizing assessment of learning needs according to patient`s abilities, readiness to learn and barriers to learning. Participates and responds appropriately to emergency situations. Utilizes the medication administration system and is in compliance with requirements.
