Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our dynamic obstetric team. This vital role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and newborn. $2,416/week Responsibilities Monitor and assess maternal vital signs, fetal heart rates, and labor progress to ensure optimal outcomes. Administer medications, including epidurals and analgesics, following established protocols. Assist with labor management procedures such as cervical examinations, suturing, and neonatal resuscitation. Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatal teams to coordinate patient care plans. Educate patients and their families on labor processes, postpartum care, and newborn care instructions. Maintain accurate medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic. Ensure aseptic techniques are strictly followed during all procedures to prevent infections. Qualifications Valid RN license with current registration in the state of practice. Proven experience in labor and delivery nursing within a hospital setting; Level I or Level II trauma center experience preferred. Knowledge of obstetric protocols including neonatal resuscitation procedures and fetal monitoring. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; proficiency in medical documentation standards. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology related to pregnancy and childbirth. Competence in performing suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, and sterile processing techniques. Critical care experience or ICU background is advantageous for managing complex cases. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in emergency situations requiring critical response skills. Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with disabilities or special needs is desirable.
