Qualifications RN License BLS Certification Full Job Description Role Overview:
This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a busy ICU unit managing critically ill patients with complex conditions such as respiratory failure, sepsis, and cardiac emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct systematic assessments and reassessments of patients, involving families and healthcare teams. Analyze assessments to determine nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes. Implement and coordinate care using evidence-based practices, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Evaluate patient outcomes, utilizing critical thinking to address problems and adjust care plans accordingly. Assist with discharge planning and resource utilization. Maintain professional standards and practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma, ADN required; BSN or MSN preferred. Previous healthcare experience preferred; equivalent education and experience accepted. Current Oklahoma RN license and BLS certification required; BLS must be maintained. New graduates must complete a nurse residency program.
Additional Details:
The role involves managing life-support systems, communicating effectively with patients, families, and teams, and participating in comprehensive training, including a 12-week orientation with a preceptor. The ICU provides advanced stroke and cardiac care in a fast-paced environment.
