An Oncology Registered Nurse provides care to cancer patients. Works with Oncologists to provide cancer treatment (chemotherapy) and help patients manage symptoms during treatment. Works in clinical settings, including hospitals and long term care facilities, and may also work in palliative care.

Details Ambulatory Oncology Radiation Clinic setting within a multidisciplinary cancer care team Collaborates with Pediatric Hematology Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Hematologic Malignancies, Gynecology Oncology, Infusion Services, Dietitians, Pharmacy, Social Work, and Case Management Cares for adult and pediatric patients with hematologic malignancies (leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, transplant, CAR-T, TIL, DLI), medical oncology diagnoses (sarcoma, head and neck, breast, lung, GI/GU, prostate, CNS), and non-oncology patients requiring radiation treatment Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM Variable work schedule and work location Exposure to environmental hazards including noise, human tissue/fluids, hazardous medications, and radiation May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals on a per-unit basis Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active RN license in both Oregon (OR) and Washington (WA) BLS certification required; ACLS preferred 3-4 years of recent oncology nursing experience required 1 year of recent ambulatory care coordination experience required OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification or completion of 36 cancer-related continuing education contact hours per accreditation cycle required Epic EMR experience required Two manager or supervisor references from an employer within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted) Comprehensive work history covering the last seven years, including city, state, dates of employment, and PTO details COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted Additional Information Serve as an Ambulatory Oncology Clinical RN Coordinator supporting radiation oncology patients Work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive oncology care Must be able to operate medical and non-medical unit equipment required for essential job functions Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restriction RTO must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed two weeks Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must be gone at least 6 months before returning and must provide a reference from their previous OHSU manager Comprehensive lifetime background check required; no background or license issues accepted
