Full Job Description Role Overview:

Provides comprehensive nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team, utilizing clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patients' responses to health challenges. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, ensuring coordination with other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment:

Performs accurate multi-system assessments, monitors deviations, and conducts discharge assessments.

Planning:

Develops individualized care plans, coordinates care and discharge planning, delegates tasks appropriately, and sets priorities based on patient acuity.

Implementation:

Initiates protocol-based measures, accurately documents care, administers medications, performs procedures, and addresses emergency situations.

Evaluation:

Monitors patient responses, evaluates care effectiveness, and participates in quality assurance activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum nine months RN experience and one year of current ED experience or completion of a related internship. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Licenses and certifications including RN license, BLS, and specific emergency courses such as PALS or ENPC, with additional certifications like NIH Stroke Scale and ACLS. Computer skills required.

Preferred Attributes:

Prior healthcare experience and a bachelor's degree in nursing or related field. Additional certifications (CEN, TNCC) and skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, communication, and teamwork are preferred.
