Full Time Job Summary:

The RN Circulator Lead coordinates patient care and surgical activities in the operating room while ensuring a safe, efficient, and positive patient experience. This position works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals and provides leadership and direction to surgical staff. The RN Circulator Lead is also responsible for supporting departmental operations, staff development, quality improvement, scheduling, and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and oversee nursing activities in the operating room. Provide perioperative care before, during, and after surgical procedures. Serve as the circulating RN and maintain a safe and sterile surgical environment. Demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instruments. Assist surgeons and the surgical team during procedures. Verify the correct patient, procedure, and operative site. Manage preoperative admissions and ensure operative consents are complete. Obtain vital signs and initiate IVs as needed. Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions. Respond appropriately to emergency and life-saving situations. Ensure compliance with AORN standards and hospital policies. Conduct equipment, supply, medication drawer, and cart checks. Monitor departmental supplies, equipment, and environmental needs. Assist with staff interviews, orientation, training, and development. Prepare schedules and manage payroll responsibilities. Participate in policy development and quality improvement initiatives. Promote patient safety, quality care, and positive team dynamics. Maintain accurate electronic medical records. Coordinate services with other departments and healthcare professionals. Perform other nursing and departmental duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

Active Oregon RN license in good standing BLS

• American Heart Association (AHA)

ACLS PALS

Perioperative/operating room nursing experience Experience as an RN Circulator Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures

Preferred:

BSN TNCC NRP AORN

knowledge or experience Central Processing experience
