What they do

A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Nursing Experience Rural health experience preferred-2 years or more. OB RN greater than 2 years.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS BLS NRP
Fetal Heart Monitoring PALS in a plus, not required
LICENSURE REQUIREMENT
Oregon State RN License EMR Cerner Additional Information Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) assists in coordinating mother-baby patient care and education. A registered professional nurse who is responsible for utilization of the nursing process which consists of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for a patient or group of patients and is responsible for the provision of clinical leadership for other staff
