Job:
The Dean of the College of Nursing serves as the chief academic and administrative officer for the College of Nursing. Providing strategic vision, executive leadership, and operational oversight, the Dean leads undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. The Dean is responsible for maintaining academic standards, fostering faith integration, clinical excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving the growth and reputation of the nursing programs Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Academic Leadership & Vision:
Providing strategic direction for undergraduate and graduate programs. Driving curriculum development, program quality, and ensuring the "Be Known" promise is reflected across student-faculty interactions.
Regulatory & Accreditation Compliance:
Ensuring all nursing programs maintain compliance with the standards of the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Leading site visits, self-studies, and accreditation reporting.
Faculty & Staff Management:
Recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating faculty and staff. Cultivating an academic environment focused on faith integration, teaching, and clinical excellence.
Administrative & Financial Stewardship:
Overseeing budgeting, resource allocation, and departmental administration. Leading departmental meetings and attending academic and operational leadership administrative meetings as necessary to effectively lead the College of Nursing.
External Engagement & Partnerships:
Serve as the primary representative for the College of Nursing. Cultivate relationships with clinical partners, healthcare organizations, and external stakeholders to support student clinical placements and programmatic growth. Attending and participating on the Dean Team within the Division of Health and Behavioral Sciences. Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service. By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role. Demonstrated experience working cross-culturally with respect, appreciation and humility. Other duties as assigned. We're looking for candidates who have: An earned doctorate from an accredited institution. Obtained or are eligible for unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Oregon, with active licensure required within three months of hire. Demonstrated leadership experience in higher education nursing programs with expertise spanning BSN and DNP tracks. Proven experience managing CCNE accreditation and state board compliance processes. Legal authorization to work in the United States.
