1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit night shift position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Details Acute care Stepdown/PCU unit with 20 beds Patient ratio of 1:3, up to 1:4 during medical overflow Common diagnoses include cardiac, respiratory, ETOH withdrawal, and renal failure Titrates drips including Cardizem, heparin, and amiodarone Telemetry unit with monitor techs and RNs reading strips Nurse aide support at 1:7 ratio days and 1:11 nights Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow nasal cannula Charge Nurse and House Supervisor support available

used Night shift schedule 1845-0715 with every other weekend required On-call for low census only with a 45-minute maximum response time if called in Floats first to ICU or Med/Surg Requirements Active RN license (State or Compact) required, pending licenses not accepted Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of experience required Acute care experience with cardiac and respiratory patient populations required OR license required for this position Driver's license required at time of consideration Additional Information Provide acute care nursing to a medically complex PCU patient population 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided Holiday coverage required for 1 major and 1 minor holiday Scrub dress code: any color/design except purple for tops and pants Facility can request a 90-day emergency license if needed
