Daniel Boone Area School District is hiring a School Nurse to join a student-centered, supportive, and team-oriented school community. Position Summary The School Nurse serves as the building's primary health professional, supporting student wellness, managing the health office, collaborating with staff, and ensuring compliance with all state health regulations. This role has a direct impact on the health, safety, and success of every student. Key Responsibilities Health Services & Direct Care Provide daily health services and examinations to students Administer first aid, emergency treatment, and physician-prescribed medication Conduct routine vision, hearing, height, and weight screenings Obtain medical guidance from the school physician for serious injuries Assist school physicians and dentists during scheduled examinations Records, Reporting & Compliance Maintain accurate health and dental records Prepare immunization, accident, and annual state health reports Complete mandated screenings: Collaboration & School Support Communicate effectively with families and staff regarding student health needs Advise staff on medical procedures when requested Manage, organize, and maintain the building health suite Order and track medical supplies Support attendance-related follow-ups as directed by building administration Perform other duties related to student health as assigned
