A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description
Summary:
To provide professional nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, to collaborate with the physician's medical plan, and to execute the objectives and follow the policies of the hospital.Responsibilities:
1. Assesses, plans, implements, documents, coordinates, and manages patient care according to department and hospital standards and giving consideration to age-specific accommodations. 2. Communicates and collaborates with patients, physicians, family members and other health care disciplines in order to achieve excellence in patient care during hospitalization. 3. Promotes patient safety through adherence to protocols, policies, procedures, evidence-based guidelines and Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals. 4. Actively participates in and supports departmental and organizational quality initiatives and goals. 5. Maintains clinical competency according to unit-specific standards.Credentials:
Registered Nurse - PA (Required)Education or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor of Science Nursing Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN strongly preferred. At least one year of GI, conscious sedation and/or Critical Care experience.
