1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Behavioral Health RN for a night shift position requiring a PA or compact RN license, BLS, and CCM certifications. Details Behavioral Health unit setting Patient ratio of 1:6 Night shift schedule (3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-7:00) 13-week assignment length Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday Requirements Active RN license (PA or Compact) required in hand at time of application Current BLS and CCM certifications required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Prior charge nurse experience preferred Experience caring for patients with anxiety, bipolar, depressive, psychotic, and personality disorders Experience with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and managing assaultive behavior Knowledge of seclusion protocols and physical hold procedures Familiarity with psychiatric medication administration including antianxiety, antidepressant, antipsychotic, and mood stabilizer medications One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration Additional Information Provide inpatient behavioral health care including crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques Care for patients with substance use disorders, suicidal behavior, and trauma-related disorders Complete PA fingerprinting and ChildLine registration within 48 hours of signing contract Complete required lab work within 72 hours of signing contract Fingerprinting must be completed within PA, with very limited exceptions in other states Previous permanent or per diem employment at this health system must be disclosed, and a minimum 18-month separation is required before returning as a traveler First-time travelers are welcome to apply
