1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an IMC unit position requiring 2 years of experience and the ability to float between IMC, Ortho, and Rehab units. Details Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit of a hospital setting Care for patients with hip fractures, osteomyelitis, cellulitis, acute kidney injury, pneumonia, bowel obstructions, and general medical/surgical conditions Patient ratio of 1:5 EPIC charting system experience preferred Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7pm-7am Every other weekend (EOW) required No on-call requirements Floating required as needed between IMC, Ortho, and Rehab units Requirements Active RN license (PA or compact) required, no license hits accepted Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; MENDS certification preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Community hospital experience preferred EPIC charting experience required Skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, and airway management Skills in IV therapy including starting/maintaining IVs and peripheral line care/management Skills in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE Ortho trauma and total joint replacement experience preferred Additional Information May float between IMC, Ortho, and Rehab units based on facility needs May care for
COVID-19
patients Facility is tobacco and fragrance free Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day); if contract spans only 2 holidays, 1 of 2 is required Local candidates within 50 miles will be considered at a reduced rate First-time travelers are not required for this position
