A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Work Hours:
10 Days/80 hours per pay period The Operating Room Registered Nurse participates in all areas of patient care. The nurse utilizes a high-quality standard of care and nursing processes consistent with current practice and updated knowledge to collaborate with other health care disciplines, encompassing the needs of the patient and family.
REQUIRED
Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing, current Pennsylvania licensure; 1-2 years Operating Room, Procedure Room experience; BLS 1. Analytical ability necessary to make sure that procedures/operations are completed ensuring maximum nursing care/support is rendered to the patient, the operating room staff, anesthesia staff and the surgeons at all times. 2. The interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with patients/families, surgeons and to cooperate with the other nurses and administration in the delivery of patient care. 3. Emotional/mental ability to perform effectively and efficiently under daily pressure of stressful or emergency situations. 4. Physical ability necessary for almost constant standing, walking, and lifting. A high level of stamina also necessary for the frequent transportation of patients and the carrying of supplies and equipment.
PREFERRED ACLS
Certification, PALS if applicable, Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
