Registered Nurse (RN)

  • DC Expert Join the clinical team at South Mountain Restoration Center and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing mental or physical illness, injury, behavioral challenges, or developmental disabilities.

We are seeking an expert-level Registered Nurse who can deliver exceptional care, guide nursing personnel, troubleshoot complex clinical concerns, and exercise sound independent judgment.

Expert-Level Opportunity The successful candidate will be recognized as an expert in professional nursing practice. This individual must be able to provide guidance, troubleshoot difficult clinical concerns, confidently answer questions within their area of expertise, and support the safe delivery of nursing services. Key Responsibilities Serve as a charge nurse, staff nurse, or assessment coordinator based on facility needs. Direct and coordinate nursing care while evaluating staffing, supplies, and equipment requirements. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Supervise paraprofessional and nonprofessional nursing personnel and ensure services and documentation are properly coordinated. Provide professional nursing care in resident-care or specialty areas such as infection control, quality improvement, and risk management. Complete accurate and timely assessments, care plans, progress documentation, and electronic medical records. Required Nursing Competencies Candidates must demonstrate competency in: Emergency and respiratory care, including CPR, first aid, airway management, AED use, oxygen administration, suctioning, and ventilator care Medication administration, IV therapy, infusion pumps, venipuncture, heparin-lock care, and parenteral management Comprehensive assessments, vital-sign monitoring, neurological checks, mental-status examinations, and care-plan development Wound, catheter, ostomy, nephrostomy, drain, and pressure-injury care Enteral nutrition, nasogastric-tube care, specimen collection, EKG procedures, glucometer use, and diagnostic testing Safe patient handling, infection control, restraints, sterile technique, and appropriate use of clinical support equipment Minimum Qualifications Candidates must: Hold a current Registered Nurse license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing or a valid, non-renewable temporary practice permit. Demonstrate the ability to enter and maintain resident health information in an electronic medical records database. Possess proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products. Be able to understand oral and written assignments and exercise independent professional judgment. Collaborate effectively with RN supervisors, physicians, dentists, and interdisciplinary treatment teams. Function within established professional nursing standards at all times.
