1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and a compact or PA RN license. Details Acute care Med/Surg unit with 29 private beds Patient ratios of 1:6-7 Patient population includes Med/Surg, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end of life, and low-volume inpatient chemo cases May be assigned to both 'clean' and 'dirty' (COVID) patients simultaneously on separate hallways Remote telemetry monitoring available, monitored off-unit by monitor techs No cardiac drips administered; may administer Heparin and MSO4 for comfort measures Vent support (BiPap, CPap, High Flow) managed by Respiratory Therapy Uses Cerner EMR 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7:30a, 36 hours per week guaranteed Every-other-weekend requirement including 2 Fridays per schedule Floating limited to other Med/Surg units 1 shift of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor No dedicated CNA support on night shift Requirements Active RN license (Compact or PA) required BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required BSN not required for this position Must disclose any professional license actions at time of consideration Unexpired driver's license required for consideration Additional Information Unit led by a Clinical Manager who also serves as charge nurse, taking patients only when census exceeds 24 Night shift resource nurse carries a full patient assignment Scrub color requirement is navy blue, including any jackets worn Holiday coverage required as part of the standard staff holiday rotation Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local travelers accepted Previous WVU Medicine employees must have a 2-year break before reapplying Travelers cannot work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year without taking a 2-year break Interview process is conducted directly with the unit manager
