What You'll Do As a Correctional RN, you will deliver professional nursing care within a secure, team-oriented environment.
Your responsibilities may include:
Providing direct nursing care to incarcerated individuals Completing patient assessments and monitoring changes in condition Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans Administering medications and treatments according to provider orders and facility protocols Responding to medical emergencies and initiating appropriate emergency procedures Supervising and providing clinical guidance to LPNs and other healthcare staff Documenting assessments, interventions, treatments, and patient outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record Communicating effectively with healthcare professionals, correctional staff, and patients Following correctional healthcare regulations, security procedures, and facility standards Promoting a safe, respectful, and professional environment for patients and staff Minimum Qualifications Qualified candidates must have: A current, unrestricted Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license Graduation from an accredited nursing program At least two years of recent RN experience Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Experience using electronic medical record systems Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Strong clinical assessment, communication, teamwork, and emergency-response skills The ability to provide verifiable education, training, and employment history The physical ability to perform routine clinical duties, assist with patient mobility, and stand for extended periods The flexibility to work the selected schedule, prescheduled holidays, and additional hours when required Additional facility-specific screening, clearance, and training may be required.
