A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. Job Description

JOB LOCATION
- Wilkes-Barre General Hospital
JOB SHIFT
- Full Time Days (7am-7pm) Job Purpose Provide direct professional nursing care for assigned patients while maintaining a safe patient care environment. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices. Promote the health and well-being of the patient and significant other through the care continuum utilizing the nursing process.
Position Qualifications Education:
Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes:
One (1) year staff nurse experience preferred. Prior rehabilitation nursing experience or orthopedic nursing experience desirable. Clinical expertise, clerical accuracy, communication skills, listening abilities. Clinical, managerial, problem-solving, teaching skills. Independent thinker, ability to make sound judgments, ability to handle stress, ability to react to emergency and crisis situations, commitment to quality care.
Licenses/Certificates:
Current PA Registered Nurse license BLS required and must be completed by end of orientation period
