Position Summary City of Hope is seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our exceptional team in the Endoscopy Department. As a Clinical Nurse, you will be an integral part of a specialized team that performs a wide range of endoscopic procedures critical to diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. This opportunity is for full-time, 10-hour shifts, and day shifts (7:00am shift start time). This position is also eligible for a unit differential up to $5.20/hr additional. Call is required for this position (weekday, weekend, and holiday). As a successful candidate, you will:
Endoscopic Procedure Assistance:
Provide expert nursing care and support during various endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), bronchoscopies, colonoscopies, cystoscopies, laparoscopies, laryngoscopies, mediastinoscopies, thoracoscopies, and upper endoscopy.
Patient Advocacy:
Advocate for patients' well-being by ensuring their safety, comfort, and understanding of the procedures. Monitor vital signs, administer medications as necessary, and provide emotional support throughout the process.
Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, anesthesiologists, and technologists, to ensure seamless patient care and the highest standards of clinical excellence.
Infection Control:
Implement and adhere to strict infection control protocols to maintain a sterile and safe environment for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and complete medical records, documenting the patient's condition, medications administered, and any complications during or after the procedure.
Education:
Stay current on the latest advancements in endoscopy and nursing practices, and provide education to patients and their families regarding pre-operative and post-operative care.
Your qualifications should include:
Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Nursing is required. If ADN only, must obtain BSN within three years of hire or transfer. Current California RN license Minimum of three (3) years related experience as a RN Requirement of 1-year perioperative experience or a formal Perioperative nursing specialty course completed prior to application or within 6 months of hire or transfer.
