About the
Role:
Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse / Delegating Nurse (RN/DN) to join our team in Gaithersburg, MD. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities through Maryland's DDA (Developmental Disabilities Administration) program. Responsibilities:
Perform nursing assessments and develop individualized health care plans for individuals supported under Maryland DDA guidelines Delegate and train direct support professionals (DSPs) on medication administration and health-related tasks per Maryland DDA delegation protocols Monitor, evaluate, and document the health status of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care Conduct regular follow-up visits and reassessments to ensure delegated tasks are being performed safely and correctly Respond to medical concerns, incidents, and emergencies in a timely and professional manner Maintain accurate and compliant medical records in accordance with DDA and state regulations
Requirements:
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland Maryland DDA Delegating Nurse certification or willingness to obtain upon hire Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) preferred Strong knowledge of Maryland DDA regulations, policies, and delegation procedures Excellent communication and training skills for working with DSPs and interdisciplinary teams Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and prioritize effectively Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a commitment to advocacy and quality care
