JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION LCH

Vascular Access Team provides care 24/7 by Registered Nurses with specialty training and or certification in Infusion Therapy. IV RN's are specialists in core areas of infusion therapy practice: technology and clinical applications, fluid and electrolyte balance, pharmacology, infection prevention and control, special populations, transfusion therapy, antineoplastic/biologic therapy, and parenteral nutrition. Care is provided to both inpatients and outpatients of all ages within the hospital.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required. Healthcare Provider Level BLS required upon hire.

LCH Vascular Access Team :

ACLS required within 90 days of hire. IV Therapy experience preferred. PICC and midline proficiency preferred. Chemotherapy experience preferred. Infusion (CRNI) and/or Oncology (OCN) national certification preferred.
