A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Responsibilities:

Provides healthcare services for student(s) (K-12) Experience with medically fragile student, G-tube, seizure, rescue Meds for Asthma and Seizures, and bus riding with the student Must be comfortable bus riding with students to and from school Implements specialized health care protocols as directed by the health management plan Administer medications and treatments as prescribed Assist in implementing health care plans for students with chronic conditions

Qualifications:

Must have RI Registered Nurse License/School Nurse Teacher (SNT) Certificate through the RIDOE is required for this position Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program preferred but not required Worked in a School setting for at least 1 year or related Current CPR, First Aid, and BLS certification How to
