Job Description

Help our employees be their best—and help us provide exceptional care. Clemson Downs is looking for a Staff Development Nurse who enjoys working with people, teaching, and helping others succeed. This is much more than a classroom training position. As our Staff Development Nurse, you will be an integral part of our team and will work closely with Human Resources and department leaders to make sure our employees have the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to do their jobs well. You will provide onboarding training for new employees, coordinate and deliver annual education, and provide "right on time" training when a new need arises. Your audience will include both direct-care and non-direct-care employees across our campus, so every day will bring opportunities to work with different people and departments. The Staff Development Nurse will also play an important role in our CNA Apprenticeship Program, assisting with education, skills training, competency check-offs, and supporting our CNA apprentices as they develop the skills needed to become successful caregivers. Essential Job Functions Provide annual education and required in-service training for employees throughout the organization. Provide clinical skills training and competency check-offs for direct-care employees. BLS CPR instruction Medication Technician instruction Assist with training and competency validation for our CNA Apprenticeship Program. Identify opportunities for right-on-time education when a training need or performance concern arises. Maintain accurate training and competency records. Build positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. Job Requirements A licensed South Carolina Registered Nurse in good standing. Personable, approachable, and comfortable working with employees at all levels. An effective communicator who can explain information clearly to people with different backgrounds, experience levels, and learning styles. Comfortable speaking to a group and leading hands-on training. Patient and encouraging, particularly when teaching new or developing employees. Organized and able to manage multiple training priorities. Experienced in training, teaching, staff development, precepting, or a similar educational role. Comfortable providing constructive feedback and competency evaluations. Able to work independently while also being a collaborative member of the HR and leadership teams. Long-term care, assisted living, skilled nursing, or senior living experience is strongly preferred. Selected candidates may be required to develop and deliver a 5-10-minute training presentation on a topic of choice, demonstrating:
