3007327269-2 Apply for this job now Job Description HCA Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Wound Care RN to provide specialized assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic wounds across our healthcare facilities. In this role, you will perform comprehensive wound assessments, develop and implement evidence-based care plans, collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and educate patients and families on wound prevention and self-care. You'll document outcomes, monitor healing progress, and ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive assessment of acute and chronic wounds, including measurements, staging, and risk evaluation Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based wound care plans in collaboration with the care team Administer and manage advanced wound therapies (e.g., dressings, negative pressure wound therapy, debridement per scope) Monitor, document, and evaluate wound healing progress using EMR and standardized tools Educate patients, families, and staff on wound prevention, skin integrity, and home care procedures Collaborate with physicians, therapists, dietitians, and other clinicians to optimize healing outcomes Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards in all wound care procedures Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to wound care protocols and best practices Precept and support nursing staff in wound assessment and dressing techniques Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care Required Skills Wound assessment and staging Advanced wound dressing selection and application Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) management Basic and sharp debridement within RN scope (as applicable) Infection prevention and control in wound care Use of electronic medical records (EMR) for documentation Pressure injury prevention and management Ostomy and fistula management basics Pain assessment and management related to wounds Patient and family education on wound care and prevention
