Job Description
Position Summary:
The Clarendon County Disabilities and Special Needs Board is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing services and clinical oversight for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receiving residential and community-based services. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Staff Nurse works collaboratively with physicians, providers, direct support staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure individuals receive quality, person-centered healthcare in accordance with South Carolina OIDD standards, Medicaid HCBS Waiver requirements, and agency policies.Essential Responsibilities:
Provide nursing assessments and monitor the health status of individuals receiving services. Coordinate medical care with physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers. Review physician orders, treatment plans, and medication regimens for accuracy and compliance. Train, monitor, and provide clinical oversight to unlicensed staff authorized to administer medications in accordance with South Carolina law and agency policy. Respond to medical concerns, emergencies, and changes in health status. Maintain accurate nursing documentation and electronic health records. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and person-centered planning. Ensure compliance with SC-OIDD, Medicaid HCBS Waiver requirements, DPH/DHHS licensing standards, infection control practices, and agency policies. Participate in on-call nursing rotation as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.Minimum Qualifications:
Current South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Valid South Carolina driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire. Ability to travel between residential and community service locations.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Experience in residential, long-term care, home health, behavioral health, or community nursing. Knowledge of Medicaid HCBS Waiver programs, nursing delegation, medication administration, and regulatory compliance. Experience with electronic health records and quality assurance activities.Benefits:
