1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined Med Surg/OB unit in an acute care hospital setting, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience with recent OB and Med Surg background. Details Acute care hospital setting with a 25-bed unit Rotating between the OB (Obstetrics) and Med Surg departments Day/night rotating 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week Every other weekend and holiday coverage required 3 on-call shifts required over the course of the 13-week contract Med/Surg nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 3-4:1 depending on census and acuity Charting via Epic (experience required) Additional equipment includes Sanford One Charge and Pyxis medication dispensing system 13-week contract Requirements Active SD or Compact RN license required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP — all must be active and in hand prior to start TNCC preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience At least 6 months of OB experience within the past year At least 6 months of Med Surg experience within the past year Ability to function independently across both OB and Med Surg settings Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years Copies of active certifications required — no pending certifications accepted Active RN license required at time of consideration Additional Information Provides nursing care across both OB and Med Surg, floating between the two units as needed Orientation consists of 8 hours total: 1 day of OB training and 1 day of Med Surg training, plus Epic computer training Navy blue scrubs required with no logos; white may be worn underneath or as a lab coat Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their application date Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility are subject to a travel pay rate adjustment
