Job Description

RN Director of Surgical Services •Sign-on Bonus •Position Overview An acute care hospital is seeking an RN Director of Surgical Services to provide multi-unit clinical leadership and 24/7 operational oversight for the Operating Room (OR) and Cardiovascular Services . Reporting directly to senior nursing leadership, this role is responsible for strategic planning, resource management, staff competency, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe patient care.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership:
Assume 24/7 accountability for assigned multi-unit clinical areas, ensuring appropriate resource management and regulatory compliance.
Clinical Governance:
Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing practices to maintain high standards of patient safety and care.
Staff Development:
Ensure clinical staff competency, serving as a mentor, role model, and advocate for the nursing profession.
Collaboration:
Partner with executive leadership to align nursing functions with broader organizational goals.
Position Requirements Education & Experience Required:
Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) combined with a Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, OR a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Minimum of 2 years of progressive hospital management experience at the Manager or Director level.
Preferred:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN). Licensure & Certifications Required at
Hire:
Active, current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or residence. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Required Within 3
Months of Hire:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Core Competencies Proven hospital operational ability and clinical leadership.
