Job Description

The hospital-based WOC Nurse serves as a clinical resource and consultant for the acute and rehabilitative care of patients with selected disorders of gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems such as acute and chronic wounds (e.g., complex draining wounds, fistulae, pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers) ostomy support and instruction, percutaneous tubes, and continence. Professional responsibilities are carried out through direct patient care, clinical consultation, education, research, and administration.
Education:
Bachelors of Nursing required, Masters preferred. Graduation from an accredited wound, ostomy and continence (WOC) education program, or satisfactory completion of an accredited program within 6 months after assuming the position.
Certification & Licensures:
Registered Nurse license required. Certification by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board CWOCN) or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN).
Experience:
3 to 5 years wound care experience preferred.
