A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. Hospice of Cumberland County is growing our Home Hospice Team and looking for Registered Nurses to join us. We have opportunities for nurses interested in full-time, part-time, and on-call work. Our Home Hospice RNs provide compassionate nursing care to patients where they are most comfortable — in their own homes throughout Cumberland County. What You'll Do As a Home Hospice RN, you will: Visit and care for hospice patients in their homes throughout Cumberland County Assess patients and identify changes in their condition Help manage pain, symptoms, medications, and comfort needs Communicate with physicians and members of the hospice care team Teach and support family members and caregivers Help families understand what to expect as a patient's condition changes Coordinate care with CNAs, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and other team members Complete required nursing documentation Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled Respond to patient and caregiver needs with compassion, professionalism, and respect Who We're Looking For We are looking for an RN who is: Compassionate and patient Dependable Comfortable working independently in patients' homes A strong communicator Organized and able to manage patient needs effectively Comfortable working closely with patients and families during end-of-life care Dedicated to providing quality, patient-centered care Requirements Current Tennessee RN license Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Ability to travel within Cumberland County Ability to meet the physical and clinical requirements of the position Hospice or home health experience is helpful, but not required.
