Wound Care Job Summary:
This position involves delivery of nursing care based upon nursing process for the medical patient as well as some supervision and coordination of nursing personnel activities according to the clinic policies and procedures. .
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a resource and role model for other team members. Demonstrates effective leadership and critical thinking skills. Ability to problem solve. Effectively makes patient assignments and delegates according to scope of practice, staff knowledge, and patient acuity. Utilizes critical thinking and reasoning to provide care for the patient. Ability to exhibit caring practices to promote a therapeutic environment for patients and co-workers. Promotes ongoing education for the patient and family. Ability to assess and document appropriately according to age specific guidelines. Ability to screen patient population appropriately for referrals and services. Ability to adhere to Patient Care Services and Medical policies. References the appropriate Standards of Care. Ability to prioritize daily focus of care. Ability to evaluate patient progress toward goals. Ability to administer medications safely as per physician orders and protocols as per hospital policy. Continues to establish goals for self improvement. Ability to delegate tasks appropriately according to scope of practice and knowledge base with consistent evaluation to follow through.
