3 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a TX or compact license for a general ICU setting supporting surgical, medical, CVICU, and neuro ICU patient populations. Details General Intensive Care Unit with a mix of surgical, medical, CVICU, and neuro ICU patients Patient ratio of 1:2 Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00 May be required to float to other campuses or units Altera charting experience preferred but not required Requirements Active RN license (TX or Compact) in hand required Current certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
(TNCC preferred) Minimum 2 years of recent permanent ICU experience required (new grads with 1 year experience plus travel experience do not qualify) Prior travel nurse experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous sedation, and paralytics Experience with
EVD, ICP
monitoring, and care of post-craniotomy/neurosurgery and TBI patients Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and FloTrac/Vigileo devices Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure Experience with IV insulin protocols and renal failure management Additional Information Care for a diverse ICU population requiring advanced critical care interventions Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, which includes marijuana testing Must avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen Must live 150 miles or more from the facility to be eligible for this position Previous permanent staff must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler Candidates must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a documented plan for timely completion
