Night Shift | 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to support a leading, patient-centered healthcare system in Baytown, TX.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced emergency nurse who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced ER environment and is confident caring for patients with diverse and complex medical needs. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to prioritize and respond effectively in rapidly changing situations.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive, professional nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and acuity levels.

Perform thorough nursing assessments and develop and implement appropriate plans of care.

Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and emergency interventions.

Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.

Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention.

Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and follow-up care.

Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and outcomes in the medical record.

Collaborate closely with physicians and the interprofessional healthcare team to coordinate efficient, high-quality patient care.

Demonstrate clinical competence when utilizing medical technology, performing nursing procedures, and managing emergency situations.

Serve as a patient and family advocate while protecting patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality.

Effectively prioritize care in a high-volume Emergency Department with rapidly changing patient needs.

Participate in unit-based and shared-governance initiatives that support quality improvement and patient outcomes.

May serve as a charge nurse, preceptor, or mentor to new employees and nursing students.

Support department and hospital-wide initiatives in collaboration with nursing leadership.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

Texas or Compact RN license required.

Minimum 2.5 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience required.

Recent experience working in a high-volume Emergency Department required.

BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through the American Heart Association (AHA).

CPI certification preferred.

Epic experience preferred.

Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to remain calm and effective while managing multiple priorities in a high-acuity environment.
