Nurse Manager and Facility Director Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse at Total Point Emergency Center, you are responsible for independently providing high-quality, direct patient care in a Freestanding Emergency Room. This role requires working autonomously, managing all aspects of emergency nursing care, and ensuring the facility operates efficiently. You will also be proficient in laboratory procedures, following training. This position requires maintaining active certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). You will report to both the Nurse Manager and Facility Director.Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Patient Care :
a. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the emergency setting. b. Perform rapid triage and prioritize patients based on acuity. c. Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and emergency treatments as needed. d. Monitor patients, document clinical observations, and report changes in condition to the healthcare team. 2.Emergency Response :
a. Initiate and participate in emergency resuscitation efforts, including code blue scenarios. b. Perform critical procedures such as wound care, IV access, airway management, and cardiac monitoring. 3.Laboratory Proficiency :
a. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment for point-of-care testing (POCT). b. Collect specimens, perform lab tests, and accurately document results. c. Ensure proper handling, labeling, and processing of laboratory samples according to protocol. 4.Collaboration & Communication :
a. Coordinate patient care with physicians, support staff, and other healthcare providers. b. Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatments, and follow-up care. c. Maintain open communication with the Nurse Manager and Facility Director regarding patient care and operational needs. 5.Documentation :
a. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, treatments, and outcomes. b. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility protocols in all documentation and care practices. 6.Equipment & Supplies :
a. Ensure that emergency room equipment is functional and ready for use at all times. b. Monitor and maintain adequate levels of medical supplies, medications, and resources in the facility. 7.Professional Development :
a. Maintain active certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. b. Participate in mandatory training, continuing education, and performance evaluations. c. Stay current with advancements in emergency nursing care and laboratory practices. 8.Other Job Duties :
a. Perform other job duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or Facility Director to ensure the smooth operation of Total Point Emergency Center.Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State].
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- At least two years of experience in emergency or critical care nursing preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in high-pressure situations.
- Willingness to be trained and proficient in laboratory functions.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physically demanding tasks for prolonged periods.
- Frequent bending, lifting, and moving of patients and equipment.
- Visual acuity to assess patients and operate equipment.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, emergency room setting with potential exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and blood-borne pathogens.
- Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on patient care needs.
