Job Description

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Memorial Village is hiring a Registered Nurse PreOp Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Memorial Village is a premier outpatient surgery center dedicated to providing safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Our center offers a wide range of surgical services in a patient-focused environment, supported by a collaborative team of skilled healthcare professionals. We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Pre-Op Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a per-diem (PRN) basis. The Pre-Op RN is responsible for preparing patients for surgery, ensuring all preoperative requirements are met, and providing safe, patient-centered care throughout the preoperative phase. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive preoperative assessments, including medical history, vital signs, and patient education. Review and verify patient documentation, consents, and lab results. Administer preoperative medications as ordered and monitor patient response. Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding the surgical process. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other clinical staff to ensure smooth transitions of care. Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards. Document all patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR). Assist in maintaining a safe, efficient, and supportive pre-op environment. Qualifications Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in PreOP/PACU Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred Must have current
