Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Registered Nurse is a licensed professional, responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care to neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in the emergency care setting. The Staff Registered Nurse provides patient care for all ages in compliance with policies/procedures and the standards of professional nursing practice as defined by the Texas Board of Nursing. In addition, the Staff Registered Nurse is responsible for quality and safe nursing care by participating in and maintaining his/her continuing education, annual clinical competencies, and required certifications.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. Two years of full-time Emergency Room experience (Adult and Pediatric) 2. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 3. Current Texas Licensure with the Texas Board of Nursing 4. Current AHA BLS certification for Healthcare Providers required 5. Current
AHA ACLS
certification required 6. Current
AHA PALS
certification required 6. TNCC and CEN preferred 7. Educational requirements appropriate for meeting age-specific needs of patients presenting to the emergency center including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients including emergency procedures required for stabilization of patients of all ages. 8. Validation of clinical skills as outlined in the orientation checklist and maintain for annual clinical competency. 9. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Patient Care/Testing:
Provides patient care to all ages in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner. Ability to perform head-to-toe assessments and psycho-social assessments on all patients and performs reassessments as per departmental policy. Ability to prioritize needs based on assessments. Accurately assigns the five (5) level triage categories to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. 2. Performs laboratory testing on patients following laboratory guidelines, rules, regulations Policies and procedures set forth by the organization and government. 3.
Medication:
Maintains working knowledge of the rationale for and the effects of medications and treatments and correctly administers the same. 4. Communication
  • Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other departmental personnel in a courteous and professional manner. 5. Cleanliness
  • Maintains a clean working environment. 6. Staff Development

Pay:
From $45.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 36.0 per week
