Job Description

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered, evidence-based care in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. Responsibilities include patient and family education, maintaining accurate documentation, and upholding safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and accurately Monitor and interpret patient conditions, responding promptly to changes in status Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge plans Document care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the electronic health record Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and quality standards and hospital protocols Participate in unit-based quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges Support a culture of inclusivity, teamwork, and continuous professional development Required Skills Patient assessment and triage IV therapy and venipuncture Medication administration and dosage calculation Wound care and dressing changes Cardiac and vital sign monitoring Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation (e.g., Epic or similar) Care planning and care coordination Patient and family education Infection prevention and control Clinical prioritization and time management
