Postpartum / Obstetrics RN (L&D, Nursery, Lactation, Antepartum) Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Obstetrics Registered Nurse (OB RN) with experience in Postpartum, Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, Nursery, and Lactation support . The RN will provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns, support safe deliveries, assist with breastfeeding education, and ensure high-quality maternal-child outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care in Labor & Delivery (L&D), Postpartum, Antepartum, and Nursery units Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, including fetal heart rate and contraction patterns Assist physicians/midwives during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures Perform postpartum assessments (uterine tone, bleeding, pain management, recovery monitoring) Provide newborn care: vitals, feeding support, thermoregulation, screenings, and education Support lactation and breastfeeding education, including pumping and latching techniques Administer medications, IV fluids, oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, and other OB-related therapies Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn safety, and discharge instructions Respond to obstetric emergencies and participate in rapid response protocols Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EMR systems Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (OB providers, pediatrics, anesthesia, NICU, lactation consultants) Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and hospital policies Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific) 2+ years of experience in Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Obstetrics nursing Strong knowledge of maternal-child nursing and newborn care Ability to work in fast-paced and high-acuity environments Excellent communication and patient education skills Preferred Qualifications BLS required , NRP required (or willing to obtain) ACLS preferred Certifications preferred:
RNC-OB, RNC-LD, RNC-MNN
